God's Revolutionay Message - January 8 - May 22, 2012

We live in a time when we are surrounded with multiple definitions of Christianity. What is Christianity about--love, mercy, judgment, Christ's return? How does God relate to moral people, people without written copies of the Bible, or misguided religious people? How does our faith fit in with the experience of Old Testament saints like Abraham? What does God do to build his kingdom in spite of the failings of the church?

We will look at these questions and more as we investigate the radical message of Christianity as reflected in Paul's letter to the Christians in Rome. In some ways, Romans is a "Christian Manifesto" that reflects the core teachings of Jesus as no other book does. In it we will discover what God wants us to know about such issues as:

• justification
• the role of human effort
• the concept of calling and election
• the challenge of sin
• the hope of spiritual victory
